JG1 ROF Practice

I've talked to both Buzz and Tai about this, but I wanted to post here in order to drop you an official invite:

JG1 has been practicing Rise of Flight every Wednesday at 9PM EST. And we were wondering if the RAF 74 wanted to join us. We've already invited the Wing Walkers, so we're hoping that we'll have some great fun. :)

We mostly fly on the T&T server, but if we get enough people, we might actually be able to set up a private coop.

If you guys are interested, just drop me a PM and I'll pass along our TeamSpeak information.

I actually just bought ROF last week and need to get it up and operational before attempting anything approaching organized fighting.

I am unable to run RoF at any kind of a decent framerate with my current machine, so I can't join you guys.

I am reluctant to buy a new system now, when I'd have to replace it again in a year when BoB comes out. I have been spending like a drunken sailor lately on home renos and I'm taking a 3 month vacation overseas in Feb. so have to draw the line.

But I am sure there is the potential for lots of fun in the somewhat limited online missions RoF offers. There is definitely eye candy in this Sim if you have the horses.

I am also looking forward to when the IL-2 based 'CANVAS WINGS' comes out, which should be late this year or early in the New Year. :)

Rise of Flight is a great game in terms of graphics, the realism of the flight experience and the damage models.

But it's a beast to run on your computer. We've found that if you have a dual core system, RoF will run okay. But it really wants to run on a quad core. It also need a lot of RAM - as much as you can throw at it.

Either way, if any of you guys have any setup questions, let us know. There are a few things which drove us crazy until we figured them out. :)
