S! Another P-40 has become airworthy down in NZ. This one will be painted in the colors of Stocky Edward's a/c. Buzz- knowing your interest in Stocky I thought you would like to see this.

Salute Stew

Yes, I have been waiting for this plane. It was restored for VINTAGE WINGS, the same guys who let me film Stocky Edwards at their facility near Ottawa Canada.

We've been waiting for the plane to be finished, so it can be transported to Canada, and then officially brought into the stable at Vintage. At that point, Stocky is supposed to fly to Ottawa and be a part of the ceremony. I was going to go out and film that.

The whole thing is nearly a year and a half later than we hoped, but restorations are not simple projects.

Unfortunately, Stocky is getting on, and not sure he will be able to make the ceremony.

Do my eyes deceive me? In the seventh photo down, it looks as though there's a rear seat in that aircraft.

Yes- It has a rear seat complete with basic controls. However, they are restoring it with an eye towards historical realism: the rear panels can be added for solo flying or static display and the modern radios are hidden behind "oxygen" panels in the cockpit.
